Synthetic Photography

My Synthetic Photography pieces are the result of noticing the confluence of two trends. The first is the popularity of digital filters designed to recreate analog photographic defects such as light leaks, film grain, and scratches. The second is the growing capacity for 3D modeling tools to create photo-realistic renders. I combine photo-realistic rendering of ambiguous virtual objects with degrading analog lens effects. The results are printed and exhibited in galleries as large enigmatic photographs
