Rythmic Structure in Poetry
One of the most important parts of learning poetry starts with reading the poem in the right tone. Poems are built from sound and are meant to be read aloud. Meter is an important part of poetry because it helps readers understand rhythm as it relates to words and lines in a poem. Meter is especially significant when reading poetry aloud because it guides desired voice fluctuations. Understanding the way the tone of poetry is set can lead to better poetry appreciation and can help learners structure a poem with fluidity.
Here are select works from some of the students I had the fortune to learn with over the years. This work is from curriculumn I developed for Northeastern University: Interactive Visualizations , Visualizing Text , Sketching With Code
